How to Trace Embroidery Pattern using a Window! | Embroidery Tracing

 Window Tracing Method

All you need! ☺

Materials:

  • Printed image/pattern
  • Tape
  • Pencil or heat erase-able pen - I'll be using a Prisma Jet Black Pencil
  • Embroidery Hoop - preferably with the fabric tightly secured.

Let's begin!

Find a window with the most lighting beaming through, then start by tapping your image to hold in place.

Ta-da~

This part is a little tricky, try to adjust yourself in a position comfortable enough to not move your hoop too much when tracing your design onto the fabric.

Now that you've positioned yourself well, we can start by taking our pencil/pen and begin tracing.

Super simple and super easy!

Since I want to watercolor the background block pattern and don't want the black pencil to overpower my yellow watercolor, I used a yellow basic Crayola color pencil to trace the square blocks.

& that's all!

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you find this small tip useful for your future projects!
